Rare northeast Persian textile used as dining cloth among nomads. Motifs are sumak weave. Note rows of tiny animal figures.

Ex James Douglas personal collection. Mr. Douglas was a scholar and aficionado of Mideast tribal weaving who’s research and publications focused on antique textiles of Persia, Afghanistan, and Baluchistan.
