DESCRIPTION
Likely Khorasan. Predominance of white is unique among Baluch textiles. Amazingly fine weft float and sumak work. Note cowrie shell embellishment. Condition notwithstanding, extraordinary ethnographic textile.

Ex James Douglas personal collection. Mr. Douglas was a scholar and aficionado of Mideast tribal weaving who’s research and publications focused on antique textiles of Persia, Afghanistan, and Baluchistan.
