DESCRIPTION
Relatively large textile exquisitely stitched, silk on linen with numerous animal, insect, and floral figures. The elaborate poem appears to been interpreted and rendered from the Sermon on the Mount. Signed “Georgiana Reeve,” age 13, 1818. Possibly American. Meticulously mounted in walnut frame backed with marbleized paper.

CONDITION
Professionally conserved. Cleaned/deacidified. note (v., closeup photos) several small insect holes in the linen which were left as-is.
