DESCRIPTION
Resembles a busk but more thinly crafted. Possibly a decorative panel or may have been originally conceived as a ditty box but never finished. In any case the various vignettes are incredibly finely engraved. Obelisk (left and pavillion (right) somewhat resemble DC Washington and Lincoln memorials. Classical panorama possibly a scrimshanker’s patriotic homage to DC and the Republic. Just a theory.

CONDITION
Some insect damage. The worst was on the left side where holes were filled. I have this above a small door jamb in the house and the back pieces are velcro which make it easy to mount. Examine photos.
