DESCRIPTION
Light blue floral paper. Most Davis boxes range from larger to greatly larger in size. As they were made with bent wood foundation its hard to find one devoid of some paper attrition. Referencing 1960, L. B. Carlisle (Band Boxes at Shelburne Museum pp 10) this label is most closely associated with the 1834 example.

CONDITION
Well used but sturdy with repairs and moderate attrition to paper as shown. Later 19th century paper was applied interior over the original NH newspaper and bottom as well. An early tin repair patch (see photo 6) was nailed inside the lid rim and likely accounts for the tight fit.
