DESCRIPTION
Large scale red octagon with crab-like motif; floral vine border. Circa 1875. I suspect NW Kurd but I’ll leave pinning down ethnic identification to the savvy collectors. Fine and charming piece.

Ex James Douglas personal collection. Mr. Douglas was a scholar and aficionado of Mideast tribal weaving. His research and publications focused on ethnographic textiles of Persia, Afghanistan, and Baluchistan.
