DESCRIPTION
This paper design is called "festoon" or drapery w/ swags; c. 1830-35. The lid design is called "sunflower." For identical specimen see-- Lilian Carlisle Bandboxes @ Shelburne #37; pp.100 and #12; pp. 84. Beautiful and very decorative object.

CONDITION
Very good tho some imperfections as shown. Paper boxes are 190 years old. Its a miracle they survive in any condition. Please examine the photos carefully. The photos tell the story.
