DESCRIPTION
Flamboyant large box w/ rare warm gray ground. Uncommon and unique design for which I could find no collateral published examples. Loosely fits into Carlisle's "Romantic/Neoclassical Design" category. A turbaned horseman tiger hunting with bow and arrow. A very Federal Period American box-- bright and highly decorative.

Acquired from an old DC estate collection that dates back to the 1960s

CONDITION
Well traveled but sturdy; various repairs and flaws are evident in the photos. 180 year old wallpaper that traveled on stage coaches. Its a miracle these things survive in any condition. Please examine the photos carefully. The photos tell the story.
