DESCRIPTION
Similar to Kazaks but woven further east along the Caspian with dark weft and so-called Tosbaga (turtle) motifs. A very dynamic and decorative old foyer-size rug.
CONDITION
Black oxidation mostly on far end as shown. Attrition of original sides. Washed by Bob Mann who performed perfunctory stabilization of small cut. Otherwise rug is plush, solid and unrestored.
