DESCRIPTION
Large size might indicate “storage horn.” For “Stephen Wilder II.” Old label suggests New Jersey family provenance. Various folk art renderings include passant lion/unicorn, bird, fish. Assumed to be American, Pre-Revolutionary war vintage— (possibly French/Indian war, circa 1760s). Beautiful old object with warm color and patina.
