DESCRIPTION
Classically garbed young lady in a lowback Windsor settee of Philadelphia character According to Santore early American Windsors were regarded as garden furniture. The girl’s face and other details were delicately rendered with quill and watercolor. There are a variety of satin stitches on silk ground. Note exquisitely fine needlwork in the necklace and collar. Period frame is probably original.
CONDITION
A few small insect holes in the silk and discoloration. Otherwise, quite good condition as these thing go. Please see photos.
