DESCRIPTION
Spanish, circa 1650. Michaelis "Base Metal Candlesticks"  Fig. 145 refers to as "flat tray base." Gutsy plinths suggest earlier 17th century.  Exceptionally beautiful sticks and truly rare to find in a true pair. These are the best of this variety I have ever seen.
