DESCRIPTION
Continental-- maybe French. In hand you can see via the thickness, weight, color, patina, and quality of the metal that the base and plinth are original to one another. Unique because the plinth is a later 17th century form and the capstan type base harks or something earlier. However,  on careful examination the rolled form of this particular base is unlike anything you would find in a 16th century stick. This is an unusual but honest piece possibly a special ordered.

CONDITION
 As so often with these-- old dark lead glob on bottom to stabilize the plinth. Aside from that excellent condition
