DESCRIPTION
I could find no comps but surmise this is Dutch or Spanish at least early 18th century or earlier. Massive and heavy casting was “cleaned” on lathe so there is no sprue mark. I dont know this was ever cleaned. Sometimes you see on Spanish and French candlesticks this sort of brass alloy that wont polish but never tarnishes. This is a rare object not to be confused with abundant common forms. You need to have it in hand to truly appreciate.
