DESCRIPTION
Classic Delaware Valley finials and serpentine slats. Possibly New Jersey.  Fine old green paint and gold trim stencil is circa 1820s. This might be original. Another possibility is that the chair is somewhat earlier (late 18th cent) and this paint is a Federal Period update. Possibly original rush seat. Rare to find such a fine early seat in such good condition-- especially with a child's chair.

Amazingly fine condition given age and function.
