DESCRIPTION

Large exemplary quality c. 1860 Julius Norton piece with classic Bennington floral, abundant blue drawn with remarkable precision for slip cup decoration. Note original manufactured holes in lug handles. Interesting and puzzling. This is an awfully large and heavy piece to have ever had a bale handle-- that this is what it must have been. Both cobalt and glaze are a rich beautiful color. In person this piece is a knockout.

CONDITION
A relatively spacious repair on the lower left foot rim as noted with arrows. Innocuous-- but present. Aside from this-- no other repairs, cracks, or chips. Priced accordingly.
