DESCRIPTION
Ex Deike collection. Finely wrought flower basket. The Deikes were very fond of this motif and devoted a full chapter to it in their book Feathers and Foliage. This sugar bowl was prominently featured (full page) fig 8.42, pp 278. It happens to be the last piece illustrated in the book. Here is an opportunity to own an fine published piece from an important collection.

CONDITION
Note hairline and chips around the rim. Roughness notwithstanding its a knockout quality piece and an important example of early polychrome pearlware.
